The Avani Hotel appeared on the last minute search list at a bargain price. Since we intended to only stay for one night we gave it a shot and were pleasantly surprised. The Hotel has 23 floors with a great view onto the city from the higher ones (>16 and above). Especially the rooms with even numbers are looking south and tend to be more quiet. We liked the view and upgraded to an even better corner room when we decided to stay some more nights. The staff is very friendly and tries to help wherever they can. Breakfast buffet is extensive and good and also offers a selection of warm meals. During our stay we recognized that the hotel is used a lot for airline crews and also frequented a lot by people from India - the breakfast buffet seems to cater to these needs. If you are looking for cheese and cold cuts the friendly staff can probably bring you some. The hotel is a bit dated (~30 years old) and features a large number of rooms, but the rooms that we saw have been kept in good condition. We also liked that the rooms that we stayed in didn’t have carpets. Location: Although not directly in city center the location wasn’t bad at all. An MRT as well as a boat pier are in walking distance and allow for exploration of the city even if the streets are jammed. Taking the MRT it is only one station to Asok on Sukhumvit. Also the connection to the highways going to both airports are pretty good. Altogether we liked the stay and would surely come back again.

We flew from London to Bangkok and based ourselves here for the 3 days we were in the city. We had an upgrade, which was great and we had amazing views of the Bangkok skyline. Room was great; huge, comfortable bed, black out curtains, lovely bathroom and plenty of storage. Room also had a tv, fridge and aircon. Free wi-fi. There is a big gym and an outside pool and bar. Staff were very friendly and the restaurant food was great - we had breakfast included and we also ate there once in the evening. Step outside the hotel and taxis were waiting if you wanted to use them, but we generally took a 10 minute walk to the metro/skytrain which were easy to use. Lots of shops, bars and restaurants within walking distance and plenty of lovely streetfood. ATM right outside the hotel.

Good value for what you get in Bangkok, though the location is a bit out of the way. Subway station is a good 12 mins walk, which, in Bangkok heat, along a busy Bangkok road, is not the most pleasant. The upside of being out of the way is that you get great views. The staff are very helpful. In particular we found the concierge team to be most accommodating. The dining room gets very crowded at breakfast time. The buffet was extensive, but could have had better fruit and salad options. The rooms were clean and comfortable, though the bathrooms could do with updating. Bottle openers in the rooms would have been useful.

Very nice view from the window Delicious breakfast (mostly vegetarian but with many many options of dishes, Asian style) Comfortable beds Nice massage salon Swimming pool Quiet location but in the center, quite close to underground station Hotel staff helpful, very nice and patient :) 7 eleven next to the hotel :) We would like to come back one day!

Spacious room , closer to Airport , great breakfast spread . Good to get the feel of Accor as a Brand The front office staff are good . There is also a Japanese restaurent on the 1st floor . Good to see the renovation work going on . I was given room in the 19th floor & the view was good
